Bernie Sanders on Middle East

on Afghanistan : I voted for that. I voted to make sure that Osama_bin_Laden was held accountable in Afghanistan. (2015/10/13) on Afghanistan : I supported the war in Afghanistan. (2015/10/13)
on Iran : And that I believe we're seeing a fall in our relationships with Iran is a very positive step. (2016/01/17)
on Iran : I think what we've got to do is move as aggressively as we can to normalize relations with Iran. (2016/01/17)
on Iran : On the other hand, the fact that we've managed to reach an agreement, something that I've very strongly supported that prevents Iran from getting a nuclear weapon and we did that without going to war. (2016/01/17)
on Iran : But the immediate task is to bring all interests together who want to destroy ISIS, including Russia, including Iran, including our Muslim allies to make that the major priority. (2016/01/17)
on Iran : Our second priority must be getting rid of Assad, through some political settlement, working with Iran, working with Russia. (2016/01/17)
on Iraq : I will do everything that I can to make sure that the United_States does not get involved in another quagmire like we did in Iraq, (2015/10/13)
on Iraq : What the nightmare is, which many of my Republican colleagues appear to want is to not have learned the lesson of Iraq. (2016/01/17)
on Iraq : I think the vacuum was created by the disastrous war in Iraq, which I vigorously opposed. (2016/01/17
on Jordan : We should -- we should learn -- we should learn from King Abdullah of Jordan, one of the few heroes in a very unheroic place. (2016/01/17) on Middle_East : To get American young men and women involved in perpetual warfare in the quagmire of Syria and the Middle_East; would be an unmitigated disaster (2016/01/17)
on Syria : Well, let's understand that when we talk about Syria, you're talking about a quagmire in a quagmire. (2015/10/13)
on Syria : We should be supportive, but I do not support American ground troops in Syria. (2015/10/13)
on Syria : she is talking about, as I understand it, a no-fly zone in Syria, which I think is a very dangerous situation. (2015/10/13)
on Syria : But I think when Russians get killed in Syria and when he gets bogged down, (2015/10/13)
on Syria : I support air strikes in Syria and what the president is trying to do. (2015/10/13)
on Syria : To get American young men and women involved in perpetual warfare in the quagmire of Syria and the Middle_East; would be an unmitigated disaster (2016/01/17)
on Syria : But where I think we do have an honest disagreement, is that in the incredible quagmire of Syria, where it's hard to know who's fighting who and if you give arms to this guy, it may end up in ISIS' hand the next day. (2016/01/17)
